A fundamental problem common to the development of most sensory systems is the generation of functionally distinct neuronal cell types.
The visual system constitutes a unique model to study the generation of cellular diversity within an otherwise homogeneous neuronal population.

Senselab a joint research laboratory of Arzu Çelik and Stefan H. Fuss at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics of Bogaziçi University, Istanbul. Research in the lab focuses on the developmental Neurobiology of the fly visual and the zebrafish olfactory system.
